Joan C. Firra, PT, MA, PhD (c) is a physical therapist with over 50 years experience and has treated tens of thousands of patients throughout her career. As a pioneer in her field, she has implemented many physical therapy programs in hospital settings before going into private practice in 1984. Joan specializes in geriatrics and women's health and is currently working on her PhD. She is a frequent guest and exercise consultant on Your Health with Dr. Richard and Cindy Becker on the Family Network. Joan is the mother of seven children and has ten grandchildren. She attributes her exuberance for life to nutrition, spirituality and exercise. Joan enjoys the symphony, swimming, gardening, traveling, skiing and spending time with her family and friends. She continues her lifelong commitment to treating patients at her private practice in Dallas, Texas.
